The ‘Raw Soul Food’ ebook
As a raw food teacher, I am constantly canvassing clients about their thoughts on their relationship to Caribbean, African and Indian fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices and it should come as no surprise that the many colourful markets, with their wonderful aromas, offering delicious fresh, local fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices, are considered the fundamental, earth resources that provide a plethora of health benefits for optimum health and longevity ‘back home’ and now here (in the West) too! But using heat to cook these healthy delights destroys a large proportion of the nutritional gifts that nature intended for us.

COMING SOON - The 'Raw Soul Food' ebook
Raw Soul food is all about how we can holisically integrate the natural cultural delights of Africa, the Caribbean and India into our healthy lifestyles…From raw plantain salad to baobab milkshake, there are numerous mouth watering ways of preparing and presenting ‘raw’ foods (nuts, seed, fruit, veg) to enhance the body’s already incredible rejuvenative processes. Many of these are contained in my forethcoming ‘Raw Soul Food’ ebook. More info coming soon!
Chocolate Festive Treats

At this time of year, if you’re a raw soul fooder, you have probably been thinking about what to eat during the festive season ahead… Today I tried out a new recipe creation that I call Coco Balls. Based on the familiar combination of fruit and nuts, it’s quick and easy to make. Instead of using the expensive raw cacao products sold in many health food stores, try getting hold of of some natural West African or Caribbean cocoa powder instead. This recipe makes a great Kwanzaa treat!

Greetings All and a Happy New Year,
I’m so excited about this coming year because I’ve committed to making 2011 MY HEALTHIEST YEAR EVER.
It feels like there’s so much more to look forward to in this journey towards optimum health, well-being and longevity.
There are a few things I wanted to share with you about what I’ve experienced over the past year or so… These six principals (below) have been more deeply affirmed for me via my health journey so far and I hope that they may resonate with you in some way.
1. Cleansing of the spiritual mind and physiological body is an essential part of physical and emotional rejuvenation and attainment of optimal health
2. Consuming raw and living foods as a substantial part of our nutritional diet, can fast track personal and spiritual growth and development
3. Focusing forwards and not on the past, elevates personal vibration and helps to propel you towards your goals and dreams
4. Maturity and wisdom can be fostered by taking responsibility for personal well-being through holistic self-care and a commitment to healing emotional and spiritual wounds and traumas
5. Acceptance that life challenges are vehicles for transformation that can also aid forgiveness and promote a sense of personal freedom and abundance is a vital tool to birthing a new you
6. A healthy body, mind and spirit are the keys to joy, happiness and fulfillment…
You’ve probably come across this poem before, but it sums up my sense of joyous self in this moment
Dance like no one is watching
Sing like no one is listening
Love like you’ve never been hurt
And live like heaven is on earth.
So this is an invitation for you to join me and make 2011 YOUR HEALTHIEST YEAR YET…
By the spring, I hope to bring you my first Sistahintheraw ebook, a summary of the basic’s of what Raw ‘Soul’ Food is all about, which will include recipes from my workshops and I’ll be offering the next Sistahintheraw raw food demo, dates to follow, I’ll keep you posted.
Do write back and let me know how you’re doing.
Stay blessed and healthy

- Healthy Lifestyles promoted in Grenada
“grow what you eat and eat what you grow” is an initiative that has been used in Grenada to combat chronic diseases and to promote a more healthy and active lifestyle.
(Grow what you eat and eat what you grow, this is a phrase popularized and a principle firmly practiced by the Peoples Revolutionary Government (1979- 1983) is still as sound of an advice now as was then. Think of the health benefit of people when we begin to replace rice and macaroni with good “green fig”, yam, sweet potatoes and all those other nutritional food grown on our beautiful isle. www.barnaclegrenada.com/content/view/543/53/).
